Neil Mansell is 37 years of age and lives in Chelmsford with his wife and 2 children.

Neil grew up in the south coast town of Swanage in Dorset and lived there for the first 18 years of his life. His parents were entrepreneurial and owned their own hotel and Neil got to see the hard work and dedication required by his parents to run their own business and he also got involved with small tasks such as delivering newspapers to the guests, watering the plants in the garden and helping get suppliers from the local ‘Cash and Carry’.

After selling the hotel when Neil was aged 10, his parents went into retail (with a ladies fashion outlet) and also into holiday lettings with a small number of holiday let properties in the town. This again gave Neil early years exposure to the different sectors and continued to develop his interest in property and business especially when his Dad ventured into the world of property development and refurbishment. Neil also had other part time jobs with a paper round and also working in a couple of fish and chip shops and restaurants.

Aged 18, Neil left Swanage and moved to Chelmsford in Essex to begin a Business Studies Degree at Anglia Ruskin University. Graduating in 2001 with a 2:1 Honours Degree, Neil began working for Maldon District Council as the Business Development Officer which involved liaising with local businesses, running the Maldon District Business Club and signposting businesses to other support providers such as Business Link.

From 2003 to 2007, Neil worked in the Thames Gateway regeneration zone, working with larger businesses already based there that wanted to expand and strengthen their routes in the area. Neil also briefly worked with a number of businesses that were relocating from where the London 2012 Olympics were being built and helping them to identify other sites and properties that would fit their requirement.

In 2005, Neil started investing in residential property in the Chelmsford area and in 2007 had developed a core income stream which allowed him to quit his full time job and focus on property as a business. He started employing staff and became the first franchise partner of a property investment franchise which has since gone on to grow to over 200 partners in the UK. He also began mentoring other property investors that joined the franchise enabling him to help people buy high income generating properties in over 40 towns and cities in the UK.

In 2011, Neil became an author of a book called ‘Wage Slave to Financial Freedom’ which detailed his property investing journey and how he managed to leave his full time job and develop a portfolio of properties.

In 2013, Neil bought a pub and managed to get residential planning consent to demolish the building and replace with 6 flats and 4 houses in Chelmsford.

In 2014, Neil established Essex Business Sales, which operates under license from GPS Business Sales. Using his unique background and experience of different business sectors he is well placed to help business owners in Essex who are looking to sell their businesses. There are very few dedicated business agents based in Essex and Neil offers a service from a perspective where he fully understands the issue of running and owning businesses whether that be in the retail sector, pubs and restaurants, commercial property, franchises, hotels etc.
